  • Pottsville Beach
  • Murwillumbah (Mt Warning)
Had a great week with Tarnay and Thomas at Pottsville Beach . The House was really comfortable and it was good to lay about on a couch of an evening.  We did the tourist stuff,  fished and swam in the surf.  Tarnay and Tom even swam in the pool whilst it was raining just to make the most of their holiday.  We did a day trip to Nimbin (definitely a different town) and Byron Bay (way to touristy for us).
Great Time with Tarnay and Tom at Pottsville

Master Fisherman and support crew
The weather  really turned bad the last two days of the kids stay which was a shame, (87mm rain in one day) still it was great having them with us.
We were lucky to get some fishing in before the rain and got a nice little feed of Bream and Mullet, cooked by our master chef Thomas.

Back to the mobile shoe box and back into camping mode.  Murwillumbah  our next stop.

The track up to the top of Mt Warning was extremely challenging.

After taking Tarnay and Thomas to Nimbin and seeing Mt Warning on the way we decided that we should climb this mountain/volcano. In winter it is the first spot in Australia to see the sun rise).  So we set off early Sunday morning and hit the trail.  It took us about two hours of up up up with the last 400 metres of pulling yourself up by chain only to arrive to cloud and no view.  After waiting it out for a bit and watching the very large patch or storm/rain radar on the iphone getting closer and closer we were lucking enough to get a small break in the cloud and boy what a view.  Worth every bit of the sweat (clothes were totally saturated) and jelly legs to get there.

waiting.........
The cloud lifted 360 degree Fantastic Views ,Wow!

whoops!

The way down was a bit hairy – backwards down the chain was definitely the go after a slip onto the backside for Cam.  Two hours back down – I don’t know what was worse up or down, the track was extremely muddy wet and slippery but definitely worth it.

Spectacular!
