- · Back to Katherine
After going
around Kakadu we headed back to Katherine and stopped at the same C.P. nothing
much changed a little more people around as the Katherine Show was on, so we
had a show day.
Pretty good
outing - seeing a big regional show was a lot to take in.
The highlight
was the rodeo. What a great spectacle and so close to the action. These guys
are absolutely mad and the two dudes that offer themselves as targets to get
the bulls off the arena are insane. Tough job - hope they were well paid as
they ran around all night being chased by angry bulls. As a sport these guys work harder than an AFL
player and a lot more dangerous, not to mention the Dunlop volleys- only in the
Territory.
We’re on our
way to the West.
Hooroo
The dogs were clever |
who's gunna give! |
Only the Territory would have racing on an oval. |

Yee-ha |
Get on a bull ,w'll give you a helmet though. Crazy |
What a nut case! in dunlop volleys |
someone out the back must of had a laugh they let another bull out! |
The bulls had the points |

|
Nup Ouch! |
The guy on the left knows the bull can see pink |
Those volleys must be a special grip model |
If it wasn't thrilling enough, send in the kids! |

The kids got a dirt and all view |
I'm go'in alright |
I'm getting off here! |
We are really enjoying reading about your adventure. Not so keen hearing about close encounters with the local wildlife. Crocs and snakes will give anybody the heebeejeebies. So envious of the fine weather you are having. It has been miserable here. Cold, wet, frosty, windy, foggy. You name it, we have had it this winter. A great challenge for Greenkeepers. Russ and I are eagerly waiting for our own adventure to begin when we head off to Europe on the 13th August. I will continue with the same blog (6wanderingepsomites) even though there are only two of us this time. Warmer weather will be appreciated. Chris (at golf) mentioned that you were at Derby when he spoke to you. He also said that it had been quite some time since you had had a shower. Great!!!
ReplyDeleteNeil and Janet have headed south and are resting in Alice Springs for a few days. Still loving their journey.
Should be plenty of flora out for you to photograph soon. The photos posted so far have been great. Look forward to seeing more. Hope mine might be half as good! Keep on having a great time and we look forward to reading more. XX L & R
